500mm x 500mm Hot Tap 

N.S. Pawliuk completed a 500mm x 500mm hot tap on an SDR26 PVC potable water main during the 2024 construction season.

Materials Selection

  • Tapping Sleeve: JCM 412 ESS coated with NSF-61 fusion bonded epoxy.

  • Valve: Clow F6102 bevel gear resilient wedge gate valve.

  • 304 Stainless steel hardware used throughout. 

Key Points

  • This hot tap was performed with no disruption of service to the hot tapped pipe. 

  • The tapping sleeve and valve are always pressure tested prior to coring the pipe ensuring a leak free installation.
