750mm x 750mm Hot Tap 

N.S. Pawliuk completed a 750mm x 750mm steel hot tap on a potable water main during the 2024 construction season.

Materials Selection

  • Tapping Sleeve: Romac FTS420 protected with "Romacoat" NSF-61 fusion bonded epoxy.

  • Valve: J&S 6800 series bevel gear resilient wedge gate valve with integrated 4" bypass. 

  • Fasteners: 304 Stainless steel used throughout. 

Key Points

  • This hot tap was performed with no disruption of service to the hot tapped pipe. 

  • The bolt-on design of this tapping sleeved allowed for quick installation. 

  • The tapping sleeve and valve are always pressure tested prior to coring the pipe ensuring a leak free installation.
