This involves adding a valve to an existing water main or sewer force main without interrupting flow in that main. The valve is installed in the open position, to be closed when needed. No disruption to water or sewer service occurs to neighbouring consumers of water or sewer service.
A valve insertion would be used to provide an opportunity to interrupt water flow in a long line, or to isolate a line for future work, or simply to control flow. Please note that for many of our valve insertion projects, installations only take a few hours and no equipment is needed from our customers because we have our own picker trucks.
We provide valve insertions for the following customers:
We can perform 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 16 inch (100, 150, 200, 250, 300, and 400mm) valve insertions. Any application requiring a larger flow stoppage could likely be accommodated by the installation of a line stop.
